monoprints--leaves and doilies and bubble wrap

Did some monoprinting this week, both with and without a gel plate.  Used leaves, doilies, and big bubble wrap for markmaking:

It's good to have a stash of painty prints, ready to use as background papers in pretty much any project.  Makes me happy.  :)

P.S.  I'm on instagram now, thanks to the girl child, but it's taking me a while to get the hang of it.  One thing I CAN do is find the people who are following me, so if you're one of my arty friends on instagram, please follow me so I can find you!!  This is instagram me, here!

Just Glue It, Day 21ish: He loved the sea. (and a tiny fairy pop-up)

He loved the sea.
Well, being sick has definitely been getting in the way of glue time.  That's all I have to say about that.
been getting my photos from Altered Pages--HERE.
That tab you see on the left, it's from the "friends" layout, HERE.

Also, my post today at Altered Pages has a layout from a little pop-up fairy book;  you'll find it HERE

Now please excuse me, I need another cup of hot tea . . .

Happy Thursday to you!

Just Glue It, Day 20: read

Used another vintage alphabet set in this layout

So I mean to read more this year.  I used to read quite a lot, but honestly, it got to be something of a waste of time, so I cut back exponentially.  But I mean to read more this year, but reading of a better sort.

Just Glue It, Day 19--friends

Some collage--the grey is nice and shiny, it's actually joss paper . . .

. . . some Wite-Out pen, pencil, crayon . . .

. . . and a little cardstock heart.

Oh, and a wash of ivory acrylic over the pages.  And when I say "wash", what I'm really saying is a smearing with my fingers and a little bit of tea out of my glass, because I was too tired to get up and get some water.

(PS:  I'm tired of being sick.  And now there's paint in my tea.)

Joining in again at Word Art Wednesday, always anything goes WITH an uplifting sentiment.

Just Glue It, Day 18: max strength, multi-symptom

Hot and sour soup makes a great decongestant, and the little bag that held the crispy noodles makes a nice addition to this layout.  The white dots are from a Wit-Out Pen.  (Just noticed that says "Wit" instead of "Wite", but I'm feeling pretty witless!)
Not my best layout, but sometimes being sick takes the creative right outta me.

Just Glue It, Day 17: gel plate monoprint heart, plus a Valentine

Finished the layout using the strip background, used part of a monoprint to make the heart.
I added some Wink of Stella, plus metallic crayon.
Another one of my vintage stamp sets, these are from the late 1940s.  They're from a set designed to be used in the classroom, and come with some great line art stamps as well.

Also using my stash of monoprints to make a few Valentines.  You can find more on this today at the Altered Pages blog.  Deli paper = still my favorite paper to monoprint on!

Just Glue It, Day 16: strip background

I like this background a lot, which leads me to overthinking what to put on top of it, which means things have stalled on this layout!
