diy desk redo--What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday, #331

Ohmygosh it's Wednesday!  I'm going to jump in at What's on Your Workdesk for the first time in ages!

Just so you know, even though I've been blog missing, I really have been doing stuff these last few months--here is a desk revival done for one daughter-in-law, using chalky finish paints from DecoArt.
BEFORE.  Garage sale chair, flea market mirror frame, we had the desk for ages.

AFTER.  My mom made the quilt top hanging on the back of the chair (which is now almost finished), and the new desk/vanity was made to order to match.  The mirror isn't quite where it was finally placed, but you get the idea.  The detail photo at the beginning of this post is of the top of the mirror frame, of the carved area.  I really wanted to antique this a little, but she likes the bright clean look of it, and the "customer" is always right, yes?

I'm going to WOYWW like crazy for the next hour at least . . . see you there?

Lovely to see you back Trisha!! You have been busy in the loving everything you've been up to. The quilt is beautiful, so detailed.
I couldn't reply to your comment as you're a no reply blogger. Please email me and I'll send you Shaz's address :-)

Your re-do is so beautiful!! It just shows why it's better to upcycle and paint things. You could never buy that. Thanks for your sweet visit! Sandy Leigh #36

Trisha, this is truly gorgeous... That mirror looks as if it's been partnered with the desk forever! What a fab colour scheme, and I love the chalky finish to the paint, too. You've done a beautiful job there! Thank you for your lovely comment. I am determined to be patient and see this through - not long to go now till the final treatment is over, and then I can concentrate on getting well again, and looking forward to getting more energy back again. I'm thinking positive!!

Happy belated WOYWW,

I love DecoArt's Chalky Finish paints. They're so pretty and nice to work with. I am not a furniture painter however but you have done such a stunning job with this! I love that mirror. How positively bohemian! If your daughter-in-law decides she really doesn't like it, it can come live at my house. *wink wink* :)

Thank you for your kind words on my post. They made me smile!

Oh wow, what an amazing job you did on the furniture! I like the 'antique look' more but you are right, the customer puts in in their home so you leave it as she wants it... it IS gorgeous both ways after all! Thanks for your visit earlier this week, happy (belated) woyww and a hug from Holland! Marit #14
