what did you do last night?

Son #2 has Praise Team practice on Tuesday nights, but
no car. You know what that means--the mommy chauffeur
service! It's fine by me, however, for two reasons:
first, he's using those couple years of guitar lessons,
not to mention the bass we gave him for Christmas last
year! And second, it gives me an excuse to sit and read
or make something.

This is what I did last night:

Okay, sure, probably everyone has made matchbox ornaments
except me, but they are so much fun--I kind of want to make
enough to number, hang on the tree, and use as an advent
calendar.

Not much will fit inside, but that's part of the challenge, yes?

These kind of look like little satchels.

They could maybe use some more beads or a tassle
at the bottom. Hmmmm. Anyway, it's almost
Thanksgiving, and that's when Santa (aka as DH)
puts up the tree!

What did YOU do last night?

These are so beautiful! I love the vintage looking papers you used, and the colors... well, just gorgeous.

A little piece of chocolate would fit in there, wouldn't it? :)

Last night?
I crocheted. A friend ordered eight towels with towel toppers. Four Fall colors, four Christmas colors. So I've been busier that a cat in a sandbox trying to get them ready for her.
And I take them everywhere I go, trying to get them done.

They're beautiful! Did you use Altered Pages images? Candy will ALWAYS fit inside, if you needed an idea. Money too.

oh, yes, Kate, chocolate is ALWAYS appropriate!

we have an advent calendar with pockets that my moms made, and my kids are such stinkers, i don't put the chocolate in the pocket until the very morning or late night before that date. the deal is, first to it gets it.

Becky, i so wish i could crochet decently!!

and yep, Kris, they're all ap images (do you smell a kit?)

The match book ornaments are beautiful. I love the vintage look to them.
Enjoy driving your son. It is such a good time to talk and hear about their life. I was always so sad when my boys got their license and started driving. I missed those times in the car.
Oh yes, last night I cleaned out under my son's sink and his bathroom drawers, the bottom of his closet, did three loads of wash, read a book The Lost Quilter, and cut up a book and cut out a bunch of bird images. [I had the house all to myself]

whoa, Elizabeth, you were busy!

it is amazing how the kids will just start telling me every little thing when we're in the car.

and, by the way, I think I've read all the Elm Creek Quilt books at this point--The Lost Quilter was one of my favorites!

Is there a new Elm Creek book? I don't remember the Lost one. I'll have to look them up. Thanks for stopping by and entering my giveaway.
