anything new blooming with you?

Here is our new volunteer puppy, Jimmy.
AKA Little Jimmy,
Nasty Jimmy,
Naughty Jimmy, and
Little Jimmy Dickens.

These smell wonderful!

These are some type of peony, a woody shrub, a
beautiful, prolific bloomer at our house.

Pics courtesy of the dd.

one more, as per her request:

Maggie up a tree. Maggie the Cat.
This cat is very much the dd's. In the World
According to Maggie, we exist only to do her
bidding.

Come to think of it, Jimmy is the only one of
our pets whose name is not have some type of
literary allusion.

I don't think he'll notice.

Love the pictures your dd took. I just love it when they get involved.

I hope that my lilac will bloom before next week. I love it when my kids give me lilac bouquets on Mothers day. The peony is fantastic!

My peonies have not even tried to open yet-probably not enough sun in the front. Maggie the tree cat? Does she ever get stuck?

Beautiful pics! Love the new pup. Another dog to chew up mine when she comes to visit you.
My Peonies barely bloom anymore. Too much tree coverage overhead. I could move them, but don't really have a green thumb...

oh heck, just dig 'em up and move 'em. They may not like you too much for the next couple of years, but they'll survive. i just dug up a mess of peonies from my grandma's yard, and can't wait until they bloom.

which will be in a couple of years.

(the one in the picture isn't a regular peony, by the way)

nope, Mags never gets stuck--she's one tough kitty. and Jimmy is a coward, so Clem will have no problems with him!

We dug up peonies years ago and planted up front... and never saw them again. They were the pretty red ones too. Might try it again this year though. They were one of the things I loved about this house when we bought it. Can I dig them up now or does it have to be before they've bloomed or in the fall? Probably should add something to the soil too. Seriously don't have a green thumb.
