What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday, #218 ATC and mail art!

Well I missed the party last week;  we were out of town  This month is going
to be sketchy at best for me in the bloggy department:  another weekend away
is coming up, school is starting soon, and we're moving our shop all within the
next few weeks.

This is the only little something I've had time to make this week:
It's an atc, and the background came from a design team goodie box from Altered
Arts Magazine--it's not textured paper, it's actually a textured plastic from a
company called Wee Scapes, and is typically used for building tiny houses for
model train displays!  It's colored with Staz-On, just patted on the top of the bricks.

Here's the work table--all part of the massive sorting out:

And look at this AWESOME postcard I received in the mail from Eliza, also known
as Queenartoypia:
all the way from Australia

Eliza, I was thrilled--even the envelope is beautiful!  THANK YOU!!!!  Plus, you
probably know Eliza is one of our WOYWW sisters, so that made it even more
exciting.  (Okay, yes, you're right, I cried a little bit!)

Thank you, Julia, for the WOYWW party--it's always fun to see what everyone is up
to.  Have a great week, everyone.  I hope to "see" you soon!  For those of you who
had to hunt around a little to find me this week, I apologize for linking up incorrectly,
and thank you for taking the time to click around a bit to find the right post.

A clean out/straighten up, huh?! I see the pompons are all wrapped on spools. So pretty. Looks like you need another bottle of glue....let's see...don't mind me I'll just nose around for a bit. :) Love Eliza postcard! Cool background on the ATC. Hugs Nan #8

Oh Yippee you received it, thought you should have it by now. Thanks for the praise too. I was going to post the card on it's own then the weather got bad and I thought oh no, wet, prefer envelope to get damaged before postcard. Anyway you inspired me so thank you too.

What is it about ATCs? They are just the perfect thing when you want to make something arty but don't want to devote the entire day to it. The small size means they don't take up a ton of room, and the dimensions mean there is such easy storage and display options. Really, they are the near perfect thing to dabble in!

Love these. And I have a fondness for mail art too!

Happy WOYWW!

Lol, you don't have to justify the messy desk with the "clean out angle", we just like a messy desk to look at! Sounds like you're really busy right now too, glad to see you're still making time for crafting though. Gotta love that happy mail! Old cars are always fun, you never quite know just what they're going to do!

LOl, Oh Brenda, I've never been one to justify the messy desk--my desk is NEVER "clean," but sometimes it has fewer layers on it!

Lovely ATC. I know that little plastic well - I used to help my dad build his model train displays. I always got the "extra" pieces to use in my own little projects. Happy WOYWW -Mari K. #13

Thanks Trish for visiting my blog :-). Love your ATC and isn't it funny where we get our inspiration and materials from! I used corrugated cardboard and grunged it up with coffee and tea stains on my last canvas! Hope you have a great week and happy WOYWW.

I'm playing catch up after having been offline for nearly three days due to internet woes associated with our recent rain. I adore that ATC. I haven't seen an Altered Arts mag for years. They sort of got less appealing to me than Somerset, although their prices were a bit better. Glad to see their boxes are doing well, though. And don't we all love mail art? Yah!

Happy quite belated WOYWW from #2.
