A mail art postcard

featuring Altered Pages Vintage Text Collection and collage image

A little mail art today--my favorite type of background, all that yummy ephemera--
more on the Altered Pages Artsociates blog today!

PS--Please let me apologize to all my bloggy friends for being woefully behind in
visiting;  still painting the house, putting down flooring in the living room next.  I'll
be back to blog snooping visiting again soon.

Have a wonderful weekend!

doing lots of painting . . . What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday, #251

Hello, WOYWWers!  Did you miss me?  I've been doing a lot of painting . . .
but it's been on walls and ceilings, not canvases!  Two bathrooms = finished.
And the living room ceiling.

But no one wants to see that, bleah.  Here is a jewelry holder I finished last
night, though--it's hanging in my bathroom--an altered frame, fitted with
window screen to slide earring hooks through, and cup hooks to hang
necklaces on:
It's been so ling since I've made the rounds, I look forward to "seeing" you this week.
Happy What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday, everyone, and thank you, Julia!

Little surprises around every corner--but nothing dangerous. (Easy-to-add flaps, doors, pockets, and pulls for altered books.)

It's Altered Book Month at the Altered Arts Magazine blog, and today I'm going to share with you some of my favorite things about altered books:  interactive flaps, doors, pockets, and pulls.  Here are several simple ones, all from a book created to feature grandchildren from baby-to-older-child:
double doors, or gateway fold

stitched vellum pocket, opening at top, tag pull

glued edge pocket with opening at top and a tag pull

mini-niche door or flap, hinged on the right side

full page glued pocket with corner foldover and tag reveal
I've shared several more layouts, using even more flaps and suchwhat, in my post today at Altered Arts--you can find it   H E R E.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

a little book of Rogues

I've been making little books again, and the latest is an origami fold wallet book full
of atcs featuring many of the rogue women of Rogue Redhead Designs.  I really like
this one:
from the Relish Reading plate
(Books really can give you wings, can't they?)
You can see more here:  an origami wallet fold book of Rogues.
Happy Sunday, everyone!

Do you? altered books at Altered Arts Magazine

March is Altered Book Month at Altered Arts Magazine, and my post is up today
sharing a very simple way to add a little interest to altered book pages--here is a
clue (or dead giveaway?) :
Either way, if you have a minute, stop by, see more, and say "hi" at the Altered
Arts Magazine blog, I'd love to hear from you!  PS--I think this was my very
first altered book layout ever, can you tell??
