inspired by the Mailbox Muse Orient Express kit |
For my latest Altered Arts Magazine post, I'd like to share with you the
finished (at least I think it's finished?) cover of the altered book I recently
started--it began without the train image, but I asked for help (as in, hey,
what does this need???) and had some good advice via some of my arty
facebook friends. That is a pic of one of the real life Orient Express
locomotives. Normally, I avoid fussy cutting like the plague, but have to
admit, the Ingvild Bolme craft knife from Prima, it just feels so right in my
hand. Plus it's a pretty color. Does any of that sound a little creepy?
Anyway, here is the first layout in the book--it's the ticket page. The
background is stamped all over in a turquoise glaze with an awesome
Behind the Scenes background stamp from Rogue Redhead Designs:

So here's my question for you. On this page:
At the bottom, add the word "Tickets"? Or would that be too much?
Hmmm. What do you think?
One more thing--Altered Arts very recently added a blog thing to their
site, so you can get a quick peek at what all their designers are up to.
If you have time to pop in, the link is HERE.
Well why not a challenge (thanks, Marjie!):

I love your color palette and how the RRD stamp worked into the background.
This is beautiful! As you've asked, I think the word 'tickets' would work really well in that space!
x
Yes I think it would fit well 'Tickets' Loving all the background and colours as well xx
Love the fussy cut train : ) And- the colors on your 2nd page are awesome- and think the word Tickets would be a great accent.
I think you should put something that a conductor might say, like "Tickets, please" or "All aboard!"
Fabby cover! Yes I agree stamp in Tickets - it's just the spot. Off to check out your links..hugs,
I vote for "Ticket" too. What an awesome start you have, LOVE the cover.
