What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday, #179 (with a special aside to Poppy)

It's Wednesday, and you all know what that means--time for WOYWW!

My real desk is a total mess--the whole room is, actually.  It's in the "it
gets worse before it gets better" phase of tidying.  So, back in the living
room, on a tray table:
You can see a book I've been ripping pages out of, getting ready to alter it,
a CAS card (I'm terrible at clean and simple anything!) for a dt challenge
piece, and some Rolodex cards that are getting some background papers
added.  Do you recognize the lady in the collage sheet?  She's the theme
for one of the altered Rolodex card swaps.

Sorry I'm so late this week--will be around to visit later tonight and some
tomorrow, okay?

Now, a special aside to Poppy:

"Poppy, my name is Maggie.  I heard you recently got some new brothers.
That's terrible, really awful news.  Look at my face, I feel your pain,
sister!
My Girl told me we have some visitors, and they should be leaving when
their mommy gets an apartment that will let her have cats.
Aren't they disgusting?  Everyone else seems to think they're adorable, but
I slap their little kitten faces whenever I get the chance."

love having a look at where artists i admire create!!
aren't cats fun!! they can be so "unamused" when their routines and environments change. they all look so very sweet though!!! i have 2 and there are times when they can give just a LOOK..i've never noticed my dogs doing this!
i've always had a cat..as far back as i can remember.

You are so right, Ann--dogs give happy faces or sad faces, but they never give you that look of disdain that cats can manage so easily!!

Hi Trisha,

Looks like you have lots of fun things going on. I found a rolodex at the thrift store and it's on my list of things to do.... haaa. I've been packing up my craft supplies to "de-clutter" my house in the hopes that I can sell it and move to another place. I definitely know how it gets worse before it gets better.

Thanks for visiting me already!

The pet pictures always distract me, too, Jo--those and the really yummy food pics, and vacation photos . . .

Maybe I'm just easily distracted!

Cute cats, and fab work going on. Am afraid you'll have to wait till the 21st Nov until I can share those swaps. Not giving them out until the 17th! Promise I will share though. Take care Zo xx 82

OMG I laughed out loud at your kitty message to Poppy! "I slap their little kitten faces"!!!!! Totally distracted me from the desk which is looking great! Socks are so easy, assuming of course that you can do basic knitting. I talked myself out of trying them for about two years, wish I hadn't done that now!

I hope your craft room gets better soon, sounds like its in bad shape at the moment! lol Do you think rooms can get sick like people do? Hmmm, anyways, I just noticed you're a homeschooling mom, me too! But just of one, 14 yrs old now. Plus myself, I'm in Grad school. I used to read a lot for fun and education, now its just for education. :) Your cat pictures are perfectly narrated! And hilarious! I had a house cat once, for several months, until I developed an allergy to litter. :( But we do have Weenie Dawg now. And at least he is cuddly. :) Your crafts are looking very interesting this week...I can do a CAS card...for about 5 minutes! Then the glitter comes out and its all over but the cleaning! lol :) Anyways, yours is looking very nice and if there is a winner in the challenge your entering I hope its you. :)
Thanks for leaving me a sweet comment already. ~Deeyll #88

I love the Rolodex idea..the colours and pencil images are perfectly up my street! My room is constantly in a state of getting worse first...really!!

Well, I want to see those ATC's when they are done. I love vintage photos! Have a great rest of the week.

I don't know my cats look at me sometimes as if they think I am totally mad or stupid, it's definitely that look lol.
Magic space as always, I didn't have time this week.
Enjoy the start of the weekend.

Im with you Poppy it is horrible when these little beggers intrude on your space and turf. Be gentle and kind that way they wont know what you are upto. One day they will go and you can have mummy all to yourself again. My Ditto Cat is in the same boat as you intruder, intruder alert..... LOL

Hey if a tray in your living room gets things done then so be it. I am working out of the car sometimes colouring stamped images, it makes me happy even if it is for 5 minutes.

Happy WOYWW

Ha ha, I know Poppy from over at Princess Judy's place. Nice to know that there is someone who feels her pain (he he). My parrot felt the pain when we got a guinea pig. Mr Parrot is not happy!!
Great looking desk (tray table)this week.
Have a great week.

Thanks for the visit.
At least you get a tongue out or a disdain look - Jasper is sat with his back to me at the moment as I didn't respond quickly enough to the pat on my arm request for some fuss!!! I am such a poor specimen of an owner :-(

How in the world did you get that cat to pose with her tongue hanging out! *smile* Thanks for reminding me about the Rolodex Cards. Have you gotten any from your friends that were at your recent book making lunch?

Darnell said...

LOL, Trisha. I'm not really a cat person (don't tell the Princess!), but your little segment was really sweet and funny! Your altered work on the tray table is intriguing but you know, too much work for me! Ha. I'm CAS = lazy? Thanks for coming by to see me already and have a great week! Darnell #42

I didn't have anything to do with the cat pics, just handed the girl child the camera and told her to have at it. Maggie is definitely HER cat, but no clue how she got that awesome shot!

Nope, no rolos from the book party, that's why I had to join the swaps!!
