it's spring, and the smart alecks are in full bloom.
We've been spring cleaning, and the daughter found
a yo-yo. She's been carrying it around with her,
diligently yo-yoing, improving her yo-yo skills.
She comes up to me, yo-yoing away, and says
"I've been practicing so much, you can call
me yo-yo Faith."
"Okay."
"You know, if you'd practice a little, we could
call you Yo-Yo Ma."
And then she turned and walked out of the room,
didn't even crack a little smirky. If I recall
correctly, I threw my book at her. Don't get all
twitchy--it was a paperback, and she was too quick
for me, anyway.
What's blooming where you live?

Pretty pictures, Trisha!
The crocus', daffodils and Bradford pear are all blooming here on the farm.
The tulips will be blooming soon.
I have lots of daffodils, one crocus in the middle of my front yard, magnolia tree, and those yellow flowered bushes that I can never spell correctly!!! Because they grow so fast my neighbor calls them "diarrhea" bushes.
Pretty pictures, indeed. You have some nice flowers.
That's one clever daughter you have, and you told the story so well.
Not much happening in Arlington. Across the river, the president spoke last night. But I missed it.
I'll have to catch the recap on CNN.
So funny!! I have a girl or two like that! So Yo Yo Mom your flowers are beautiful!
crocus!
that's what we need! (i'm all for planting things that come back.)
our Bradford pears got most the blooms blown away by some of those March winds.
the girl child is clever, indeed.
she needs to use her powers for good and not evil.
I am loving spring. Yea, I have one of those smarty pants too. 15 going on 20. Love all your flowers. My tulips aren't coming up yet (except a mutant bundle) and I can't wait. Probably about the same as you. We did get the rain today which should help -- achew --so here come the allergies too!
Ahh yes, the attach of the smart alecks. Its nice to see their alive and blooming in the spring. So, what were you reading?
Oops. Forgot I came to visit to show you this lady's eggs. I wanna make some.

what is it about the teenies that makes them such sassy pants??!!
CK--it was just a book of James Herriot short stories, more like extracts from his other books.
short, for the most part uplifting, a little something to read that isn't too consuming!
those eggs are gorgeous--leave me more links, more links! i loved the queen's quilty blouse, too. kindly offered to take it off her hands, but she wasn't too keen on that idea . . .
Not much near us at all. I got shots of crocus a few weeks ago, about an hour south of us and have seen them locally within the last week. I just now took pictures of the hyacinth that is scenting up my kitchen.
