What's on Your Workdesk? Wendesday, #201--hand carved stamp

So last night, I wanted a stamp of ocean waves.  And I made one!
It's been a long time since I carved a stamp, and it was very satisfying.

Well, that's it, in the interest of brevity, as well as me getting into the shower and
out the door.  If you leave a comment or follow, I will do my best to hunt you down
and return the favor--see you later, WOYWWers!  (click HERE if you want to be
a woywwer, too!)

  7. Okay, I just wanna say, having carved stamps from linoleum, erasers and the printmaking/carving blocks--the carving blocks are SO much easier to use, it's just a joy!!

  12. Nifty! I tend to do fun foam stamps as they are dead easy, but not carved them since high school art class. Love the waves.

  13. Oh...LOVE your hand-carved waves stamp!

I have a couple of big boxes of stamps that I carved many years ago. I keep telling myself that I need to get them out and use them again and maybe carve some more.

I have a big 8 by 10 block of Uncle Walters carving block that you can't even get anymore and every once in a while when I open that cabinet, I hear calling my name!

  17. Nan, I used a block specifically made for carving stamps, but you can use erasers, too.

Having used both, I suggest just getting the carving block--so much more pleasant to work with!
