next-to-last layout! and a scary WOYWW . . .

(click photo to enlarge)

This is almost the end of the atc sized, hand bound mini book. The
Word Art Wednesday Challenge this week uses this quote from
1 Corinthians, but as always, you are invited to use any
inspirational text in your art to join in the challenge.

There isn't much left peeking through, but the background behind
the text is a background stamp from Rogue Redhead Designs, from
the Relish Reading plate. Collage images from Retro Cafe Arts,
the pages themselves constructed of black cardstock and various
ephemera.

NOW FOR THE SCARY STUFF. NOT for the faint of heart.

I've always wanted to play along with what's on your workdesk
Wednesday
, but honestly, my workdesk is always a mess, so I
thought I'd wait until it was somewhat tidier.

That day, I now realize, may never come. So, here in all its
geological layers of art supplies, is my "real" workdesk, complete
with all the childrens' stuff, too:

And here is the tray table my workdest migrates to in the
winter months:

To be fair, this one is stacked a little higher than usual, since
the girl child was tidying up the living room, and put all the
straying supplies here.

Will there be a spring cleaning? Maybe . . . now, if you'll
pardon me, instead of putting things away, I think I'll go look
at what's on YOUR workdesk--that sounds WAY more fun!

:)

  6. Honestly, after visiting about 40 desks, all of which are more tidy than mine, it inspired me to start cleaning up a little . . .

  7. Heh, that's one busy desk! Don't worry about tidier desks - WOYWW just caught them in between projects... *wink* I'm definitely tidy between projects, otherwise my brain would go into meltdown mode.

    Cute mini book!

    Cheers,

  11. No matter what the messy desk looks like one still almost always knows where things can be located. I just want to have time to create a few things, ideas in my head and junk to do it but time..it is so precious. Will be near KC in April, my son is in school at Ft Leavenworth. Have a baptism and a birthday so will be fun. Happy WOYWW Our Iowa weather is unreal 80's and budding trees. unheard of .

  16. You think your desk is messy, well you should see mine when I am working on it as I have to admit to tidying a little before I take my WOYWW photo. Have to admit though - you win as mine isn't as messy as yours.
Still there are no prizes for tidyness and it only takes up valuable craft time so push it out of the way and crack on.

  20. I love you disaster area! Just like an archaeological dig-I'll bet you can find all sorts of great things buried in there. The problem with tidying things up is it just gets messy again. See, you are avoiding that cycle. I think you might need a little room to play though.

  21. OMG! That room! Lol, it looks just like mine most days, welcome to the club. Love the album pages. Thanks for the snoop. Regards, Anne #66

  26. I studied archaeology and the correct term for the layers on your desk is stratigraphy!! Basically, that which is on the bottom is the oldest :) If you have fun, isn't that the most important thing?
BTW went to one of your other blogs before finding this post - love the altered tin you did, so vintage and steampunk. Really amazing!

  44. some of the best crafters work this way and if it works for you, go for it. I think you are brave to show the world your creative space and I really don't like desks that are so much in order because people just are not showing their true selves. I have just come to your blog via WOYWW and left a comment on your rolodex, I definately will be back to peek some more. Love your work.

THANK YOU for your comments!!! :)

If you see the Please Prove You're Not a Robot message, and have a blogger blog, just ignore it--it should publish for you without it. I really do NOT like those things, would not torment you with one!!!!
