a BIG mess. What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday, 243

My art room is FREEZING, so I bring things into the living room to work.
Tonight we had a family dinner, so I moved everything back to the art room:

You can see the stamps and the book of sheet music I used for my first official
post for Something Tattered, it's a collage (if you have a minute in your WOYWW
visiting, I would be grateful if you'd take a look at it HERE).

The box in front is full of beads, and the fabric is all yummy silks--I can only give
you  a little look at that piece-in-progress:

That's it for me right now--I'm off to visit some desks!

(PS--here is a peek at an atc that is bound for Peggy's--Peggy, I'm so sorry
it's taken me so long!)
For where your heart is, there your heart will be also.
Happy WOYWW to you, and thank you Julia for the party.  :)

still with the spring thing . . .

Are you tired of grey and winter?  I'm guessing that's why I'm subconsciously leaning toward greens and brighter colors right now.  Here is just a peek at a spring colored piece that's up today on the Something Tattered blog:

The wallpaper strip has a golden shimmer to it:
See?  Shiny!
Of course the glow doesn't show well in the photos, but I hope you'll stop by and say hi anyway--it's my first official Something Tattered post, and I'm pretty excited about it.  See you there?

starting to dream of spring . . .

Can you blame me?  Good grief, it's been cold here--I know, it's plenty hot
other places, but Ima gonna say it again:  People, it's been cold here!

I'm starting to dream little dreams of spring, just like these two little birdies:
Wouldn't they be cute on a Valentine??? (This N That set)

Handwritten Music and Handwriting Background

sometimes I forget . . .

Sometimes I forget how much I enjoy something.  Does that ever happen  to you?

I kind of forgot how much I love layers.  Paint, ink, stamps, papers . . .
***sigh***.  (That was a sigh of collage making happiness, by the way.)
And don't forget the crayons!!!

Watercolor on white paper, German Scrap leaf, Wallpaper Stamp (brand new
2014 release, how fun is that?) from Something Tattered (Boho Paisley),
ephemera, collage background paper and image from Altered Pages.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!  :)

image tranfers--What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday, #241

Hello to all my WOYWW friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas,
and a Happy New Year to you.  Here is what was on my workdesk last night:
These are bamboo tiles with transfer images added--they're double transfers, I
was thinking cherry blossom trees with faces peeking through the branches.  If
you'd like to see the one I finished off, you will find it at the brand new Altered
Arts Magazine blog.  (Not gonna lie to you, I like it better here, before the copper
tape was added--let me know what you think . . .)  And if you'd like to see how to
make one of these transfers, there's an easy how-to today at Unruly Paper Arts.

Now, if my internet will cooperate (SLOW today), I'll be around to snoop out what's
on your workdesk.  As always, a big THANK YOU to Julia for the fun!

I'm still here, working on this and that . . .

Hi, everyone!  I've been blog visiting around, a bit it's been nice to catch up
with some of my bloggy friends.  Here are a couple peeks at some things I've
been working on, just so you know I haven't dropped off the face of blogdom:
A book layout at Rogue Redhead Designs
And . . .
This is a detail of some bits that are tied to the bindings of three different
tiny bound books.  (The bird's nest stamp is from Something Tattered.)

There, see, I really am still here.  Now, what have YOU been working on?  Any
transfer techniques?  The January issue of Unruly Paper Arts has begun, and this
month it's all about different types of transfers.  I mean to try at least two new
transfer techniques;  well, new-to-me, at least . . .

Happy Sunday, everyone!

a matchbook fold atc with Pink Persimmon surprise

At the Altered Pages blog, there is a little hop going on today, featuring
some sweet Pink Persimmon stamps.  Here is a matchbook fold
atc Valentine (Altered Pages collage image, of course):
And when you turn it over, you can see the Glitz paper background is
a basic matchbook fold:

And inside, a sweet surprise for any arty or sewing friend, the Sweetheart Mending image stamped on cardstock, wrapped with some lovely lace:
The stamp measures in at 2.4 by 3.4 inches, so it's perfect for the 2.5 by 3.5 atc
format.  Want to see more Pink Persimmon?  Check out the other creations,
starting HERE.  (And oh yes, there are some lovely goodies being given away!)

Happy New Year to you!

A Happy New Year to everyone!  I'm slowly making my way back--tomorrow,
I plan to have a blog visiting party, and come around to say Happy New Year
to you "in person," but today, will have to settle for a short post.

For my first Altered Arts Magazine share of the year, here is a look at a journal
I'm working on, something along the lines of The Documented Life.  Thanks to
my friend Julie's inspiration,  I'm making my own, using some 12 x 18 paper
that's been waiting for years in the art room.
folding paper for the book signatures, denim for the cover, washi tape (7 gypsies and
some from Altered Pages) for adding tip-ins, and YUMMY Something Tattered stamps

Also, a big thank you to Daniella and Lyneen, who sent these sweet Christmas cards:

And to my friend Sussie, who sent this card and wonderful ATC--my daughter is all
into Amelia Earhart right now, so the atc was especially appreciated by her!
Thank you, Sussie!!
So that's it for now,  I need to go fold paper for that journal . . . see you tomorrow!
