What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday, #195--banners and snow

Well okay, no, the snow isn't actually on my desk . . . here is the
banner, or string of pennants, not sure what the correct word is:
(bunting, that's the word!!)
These are for the future DIL's bridal shower, and we'll use them again
at the rehearsal dinner.

And here is the snow--I didn't have my boots on, so didn't step too far
out, but this is part of the front yard:

 Down the drive:
You can see the shovels and sleds and skis sticking up around the
edges. Yep, we're staying home again today--but hey, we have heat,
so it's perfectly fine by me.  Happy WOYWW, everyone--I look
forward to visiting with you!

altered book cover and layout--question?

inspired by the Mailbox Muse Orient Express kit
For my latest Altered Arts Magazine post, I'd like to share with you the
finished (at least I think it's finished?) cover of the altered book I recently
started--it began without the train image, but I asked for help (as in, hey,
what does this need???) and had some good advice via some of my arty
facebook friends.  That is a pic of one of the real life Orient Express
locomotives.  Normally, I avoid fussy cutting like the plague, but have to
admit, the Ingvild Bolme craft knife from Prima, it just feels so right in my
hand.  Plus it's a pretty color.  Does any of that sound a little creepy?

Anyway, here is the first layout in the book--it's the ticket page.  The
background is stamped all over in a turquoise glaze with an awesome
Behind the Scenes background stamp from Rogue Redhead Designs:
vintage train ticket images, some graphic45, and Maya Road chipboard
So here's my question for you.  On this page:

At the bottom, add the word "Tickets"?  Or would that be too much?
Hmmm.  What do you think?

One more thing--Altered Arts very recently added a blog thing to their
site, so you can get a quick peek at what all their designers are up to.
If you have time to pop in, the link is HERE.

Well why not a challenge (thanks, Marjie!):

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday, #193 bridal shower invitations

Oh-kay, getting this posted before being dead last again--pretty sure I got
around to everyone who stopped by last week, and I hope to get in extra
visiting this week.  You know, it's hard to resist a look around, and a visit
with my regular woyww "friends."
tea set stamp from Coffee Tea Full Sheet
Addressing a big hunkin' stack of invites for a tea party themed bridal
shower.  Seriously, over sixty.  I've never, ever been to a shower that
big before!  This is for one of the future daughters-in-law, her wedding
colors are that brilliant blue, with accents of red and and sunshine yellow.

(If you're looking for the Valentine Blog Hop Giveaway, it's one post
down, or HERE.  Even if you're not looking for it, feel free to visit it!)

Happy WOYWW, everyone!  Thank you to Julia for hosting--I look
forward to a good blog snoop with you this evening.  I may not see you
until tomorrow, woywwers, but I'll be there eventually!  :)

the Princess of Everything declares: a giveaway!

(The princess has declared the winners to be Cameron and the Painted Lady!
I'll contact you for your snail mail addresses, congratulations!)
A Happy Valentine's Day to YOU!

Tracie Dean is helping us celebrate with a blog hop/giveaway:

Purple Valentine Blog Hop Giveaway
Okay, my giveaway isn't purple.  Or huge.  Just a little something to say, well,
Happy Valentine's Day!  And there are two of them, each of a different style:

The first giveaway is for four brand new, unmounted stamps.  They're of the
large-eyed waifish variety, three are spring themed, and one is a steampunkish
Victorian gent complete with top hat--all, I think, are from Tickle Pink Stamps.
(yes, it's a terrible pic!)

Next is a tiny book, two sets of Pink Paperie acrylic stamps, PLUS (and this
is not in the photo, but IS included), a selection of vintage papers, ribbons,
trims, buttons, etc.from my stash of fun stuff:
All you need to do is leave a comment, indicating which Valentine gifty you
would prefer.  Be sure to visit the other blogs in the hop--you can find them
HERE.  You may even want to join in with a little Valentine love of your own!

small world--What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday, #192

Doesn't this seem perfect for What's On Your Workdesk?  It's a
teeny tiny two inch canvas with teeny tiny people all around it.
There's glitter, too, but it's not cooperating with the camera.
The mini people came in a design team goodie box from
Altered Arts Magazine--they're made by Wee Scapes, and originally
intended for model train scenes, but apparently lots of art supply
stores carry them.  Plus, let's face it, this was a great excuse to
use a bunch of The Paints--you may remember "The Paints."
It's not as if I don't know how to mix colors, but sheesh,
how fun are these, right?  And cheap enough to play with freely!

So what's on YOUR workdesk?  Hmmmmmm???

a little bit of whimsy . . .

So I'm still using up my accidental backgrounds (you may remember
THIS card), but have added a little more sparkle to this one.  The
background was mainly all Dylusions Spray Inks, but I added flecks of
Perfect Pearls Pink Gumball from the Confections Set (which, by the
way, is on sale right now!), and it not only added sparkle, but dimension
to the background.  See how it appears to float on top of the Dylusions?
Well, I tried to get you a good pic--you know how hard that can be!
The images and sentiment are stamped in Worn Lipstick Distress Ink
and Onyx Black VersaFine, using Whimsical Faerie Wings and
Whimsical Take Flight
Sandwiched in a little tulle and added some crayon distressing, too.

Because EVERYTHING is better with a little crayon!

Happy Sunday, everyone!
